This happened because writer allowed Si Mobai to spoiled her too much. You know between lover, who love their partner more will be lost more but it doesn't matter if you have an ability to control the situation. Lan'er please don't go to Xi Jin, I begged you here as reader...please don't break Mobai heart!!!

It's gonna sound very weird saying this but, I like that the *nc*st is not the authors wish fulfilment and it ties into the culture and inner workings of the worlds, if that makes sense
