Rebecca furrowed her brow, exclaiming, "This isn't right, you know? You act so nonchalant, but it's not something to brush off. This isn't a movie; we shared a night together, and now I can't pretend I don't know what you look like down there."
"Technically speaking, you left at 2 am, not exactly spending the night. And come on, not even giving me your number? That's ridiculous," Hunter countered, slightly defensive.
Rebecca was momentarily taken aback, then replied, "But that's not the issue. Ugh, you're missing the entire point of what I'm saying, Hunter."
"No, I get it," he shot back, loosening his tie under the scorching sun, which suddenly felt suffocating. "I tried to end things earlier, but your dad dismissed my attempt. Do you honestly think I enjoy being your bodyguard after everything that happened? Ever since that night, you've been on my mind, and do I really want to shadow you all day like this?"
Feeling a mix of frustration and a subtle satisfaction, Rebecca thought, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who can't forget that night. He's caught up in it too. And seeing him casually loosen his tie in front of her... well, he doesn't exactly fit the typical bodyguard image.
