A small cave near the valley pit with its entrance about one meter above the ground, accessible for the older child to carry his sister. The interior is seven to eight square meters, damp with a musty smell, hidden by dense branches and leaves acting as a natural barrier. Gu Shiyi dried it with fire and mugwort before placing the siblings there with supplies.
