Xin Hui was arrested for mishearing orders, seizing and beating the Left Assistant of the Capital Magistrate half to death, and speaking frivolously about the late emperor. The Censor-in-Chief listed his crimes under Tan Kingdom's laws. He was initially sentenced to await execution but was later released after Princess Pingning surrendered all family wealth, stripped of his title and reduced to a commoner.
