A satchel belonging to the original Wen Qinghe, found under her while she was on the carriage. It contained an ID card, a certificate approving her for the down-to-the-countryside program, several sets of comfortable cotton clothing, money (twenty-six big unity bills and some mao notes), ration coupons, and a small bottle of heart medicine.
