A 21st-century imitation of medieval plumbing constructed by Lu Qizhou in the kitchen. It features bamboo tubes embedded in walls that pump water automatically and drains that snake along walls into the river. Kitchen wastewater does not affect river quality, while toilet waste is flushed into a manure pit for fertilizing future fields.
