Also known as Doctor Zhao, a skilled physician who settled in the village seventeen years ago after collapsing unconscious at the village entrance on a snowy night beside a wounded dead mule. He was saved by villagers and invited to stay permanently. He inherited the Ghost Realm Thirteen Needles from his school, which were developed from fragments of the Taiyi Thirteen Needles. He has no children of his own and owns the Spring Revival Pavilion in town. He became Yu Banxia's master and warned her not to use his Ghost Realm Thirteen Needles in the capital or before high-ranking officials.
