Also known as Old Man Qi, he is Qi Mingyu's father. He is worn down and aged by recent troubles. He initially agrees to return the child to the Chi family to avoid further turmoil and the burden of repaying Chi Shi's dowry. He eventually reveals that his wife (Madam Shen) and the eldest daughter-in-law devised the scheme.
