The village elder of Fengtian Village, a lean elderly man about seventy to eighty years old. He was highly respected in his village and confidently predicted a great flood, believing the embankment would not hold. He was a close friend of Squire Tang for over fifty years. He had observed corrupt officials embezzling embankment funds over the years and advised the officials to leave earlier.
