Male protagonist, known as Prince Li, a brilliant and undefeated military commander of the Great Zhou Kingdom. He suffers from a cold poison that leaves him with about a year to live if untreated. He has a sword wound near his heart and another on his right arm. He was adopted by Consort Xian after his birth mother Consort Jing died saving the Emperor when he was five. He was sent to Lingyun Mountain at age seven and joined the battlefield at fourteen. He is now targeted by the Crown Prince and other ambitious princes who seek to kill him. He has shadow guards including An Yi and An Er.
