One of the two male protagonists of the novel. He is the elder son of the Chancellor and Leng Yaoda's future husband-to-be. He is described as handsome with delicate and striking features, gentle and refined like jade, with beautiful peach-blossom eyes. He is cunning and clever, exceptionally skilled at deceiving others. He harbors no genuine affection for Leng Yaoda and is destined to kill her to protect a shocking secret. He is afflicted with a hidden, incurable ailment that has made him psychologically twisted. He returns from court every day at noon.
