A commander who lived in the military compound in Beijing. During the war, both the Xu and Qin families had shown him great kindness. He wished to repay the favor by bringing two girls to the capital—one to arrange work for, the other to marry into the family as a daughter-in-law. He had previously promised marriage to both families, and his son was of age to marry.
