An old man over sixty with silver hair and a white beard, he leans on a cane but walks steadily. He initially hesitates about allowing the investigation due to the inauspicious nature of the events but ultimately permits it. He appears courteous but hides something, as noted by the shadow in his eyes. He arranges for the officials to lodge in the ancestral hall.
