The matriarch of the General's household and mother of Xie Jingyan and Xie Jinghong. She is Yu Mu'an's mother-in-law. She is angry about the bride swap incident and initially wants to set things right. She is described as having a fierce temper, slamming tables in anger. She refers to Yu Mu'an as a scheming woman and suspects someone is behind the mix-up. Despite her anger, she ultimately allows the marriages to stand and summons the Hou family for a meeting.
