General Xiao Yan is a loyal northern frontier general framed for treason by Ji Huai'an and Sun Yun'guang. Two years prior, he led three thousand iron cavalry in a surprise attack at Heishui River, killing the Left Wise King. He is to be involved with the Privy Council in reassessing northern defenses and changing codes.
