A middle-aged refugee farmer who holds some status among the refugees on Blue Star. He made a bet with Lin Yi regarding seed soaking techniques, wagering a packet of vegetable seeds. Initially skeptical and greedy, he became attentive and willing to learn as Lin Yi explained the methods logically. He has a younger chubby brother. He is described as somewhat prideful but not a bad person and eager to learn.
