Also known as Madam Bai, she is Swallow Holding Branch's birth mother and Yan Tingbai's lawful wife. She comes from a collateral branch of a prestigious scholarly clan (the Bai family). She is currently pregnant (over two months along) and is the target of a conspiracy by Madam Wang and the second branch to cause her death during childbirth.
