I initially intended to rate this story two stars, but my accidental click prevented me from doing so. The story leaves much to be desired. The main character (MC) feels highly unrealistic and their interactions with love interests are cringe-worthy. The plot is predictably formulaic, too.
The MC's journey from the slums to a prestigious school is riddled with constant bullying and a false accusation of attempting to assassinate royalty. Surprisingly, the MC chooses to do nothing about these challenges, displaying a lack of resilience or assertiveness when dealing with nobility. Their excessive humility, downplaying their achievements, comes across as obsequious and lacking self-pride.
Another issue arises with the childhood friend女主角. Despite dedicating his previous life to her, the MC's emotional response upon reuniting is underwhelming. Devastated by her assumed relationship, he distances himself from other potential connections and remains fixated on the "dead" friend, despite not seeing her for over a decade. When they finally meet, he decides to hide his identity and let her go without any attempt to communicate – a baffling decision on his part.
In essence, this is a reincarnation-in-another-world story with an overpowered protagonist who lacks agency and relies heavily on clichés and cringe-inducing moments. The female characters often play passive roles as damsels in distress. I only read it because I ran out of alternatives.
This isn't a romantic tale; the description clearly states that. It's about XZF as the Fairy Godmother to a wronged protagonist, not a寻找妻子的书。 If you were looking for that, the description and tags didn't give any indication, right? It's a Fairy Godmother story through and through!
Nonetheless, it's an engaging snack read - the plot is satisfying, and the main character triumphs. XZF doesn't face much adversity, at least in the initial arc, because they're way above their job's requirements, which I appreciate. I personally enjoy stories like this, where there aren't many struggles beyond the villains' self-destruction.
You might not develop deep emotional connections with the characters, including XZF as the protagonist, but seeing the villains exposed is entertaining enough. The writing is well-done, and the translation is seamless.
If you want nice novel to read try ORV and lord of the mystery. Those are on top of the ranking for a reason
I also prefer the slow burn. It always feels so amazing
But it has pregnancy tag?
Oh wait, its omnipotent.
Instead of complaining, you might report it and ask for it to be revised. Since the NU page is constantly updated, we cannot follow it.
reading the tags is like that one ratatouille meme of the chef reading a letter
Another question, does Way of the devil have translation after 770 or something? Or is it mtl?
Is this novel worthy of the Rank of the Holy Number -69 ?
This is actually a 3.5-star review, but I'd give it 5 stars for its humor. I have no knowledge of League of Legends (assuming that's the game being referred to; it's quite popular in Korea) or MOBAs in general, so more than half of the content goes over my head. What's amusing is how MC Lee Yena engages with her live stream audience – they constantly tease and jokingly call her a crazy lady, which keeps me entertained. Honestly, I've forgotten the background story of Yena, but the hilarity of their interactions is the sole reason I'm still following along.
As an avid reader, I found "The Abandoned Husband Dominates" to be a captivating and thought-provoking tale. The narrative weaved a complex web of emotions, challenging societal norms through the protagonist's journey of self-discovery and empowerment. The character development was commendable, leaving me invested in his transformation. Although the plot had its unexpected twists, it maintained a compelling balance between drama and intrigue. Overall, it's a must-read for those who enjoy a gripping story with a powerful message.
This novel is okay, it's not too different from the usual villainess novels that you would find here and there. The grammar is legible, and the characters are a bit bland to read. I'll be honest, there are better villainess novels out there, but this one is alright for reading. A few interesting tidbits here and there, and it's something that can be read if you're waiting for other novels to update.
