I paused at Chapter 118 not due to the story's quality, but rather my current preference for shorter content. Surprisingly, the novel turned out to be fantastic. Unlike most transmigration stories, the original occupant of the MC's body had committed villainous actions, which added an intriguing twist. Although the world-building isn't extensive, the story focuses on what's essential, and that's what I appreciate. The MC's attitude and character development are commendable, but supporting characters lack depth in their backgrounds. It's a narrative where significance is determined by who gets the spotlight.
Bellia, as a character, is untrustworthy, and her affection for the main lead (ML) raises doubts. It wasn't until her monologue that I realized her genuine feelings for the ML's reincarnation. Despite my initial skepticism, I find her headstrong and independent captivating. She manipulates others' emotions, especially those who initially favored the original female lead (FL), which can be both intriguing and problematic. Bellia is far from perfect, with numerous flaws that I initially disliked, but they become more understandable within the context of survival. Her imperfections strike a chord with me.
The ML, whose identity is initially intertwined with the MC's, starts off as Gaia Leslie or Mr. Leslie. He embodies innocence and goodness, being kind without being overly so and compassionate with boundaries. His vulnerability made him susceptible to the MC's manipulation, possibly driven by his trusting nature. Though he might be foolish towards Bellia, it adds complexity to their dynamic.
In conclusion, I'll give this novel an 8.5 out of 10. I'll revisit and expand on my thoughts later.
I don't usually write reviews, but DPB is an extraordinary tale. The main character (MC) is diligent, optimistic, adorable, and fiercely protective of his love interest (ML). Their chemistry is impeccable, making their interactions heartwarming and delightful to read. The MC plays a pivotal role in helping the ML heal and rediscover emotions, giving him the warmth and affection he once lacked. Scenes like the snowman scene tugged at my heartstrings, particularly as the MC, aware of the ML's lonely past, created a snowman for him.
Initially, I had concerns about the stereotypical yaoi harem setup, but thankfully, the story exceeded my expectations. The relationship dynamics, especially with the tsundere third brother, provided a mix of heartwarming and engaging moments.
The plot is well-crafted and progresses at a steady pace, though some scenes can feel repetitive. It starts off resembling a typical transmigration novel with a gold-fishy system, but it evolves beyond that, delving into the mystery surrounding the MC's previous life and the system's significance. While I wished for more focus on the mystery surrounding the MC and his father, the crime syndicate, action, and gun elements were appreciated. Overall, DPB is a captivating read.
Lmao...Glad i read the tags, I was about to read it until my eyes stumbled on (Slave Harem) and oh MAN I'M OUT
Hmm, magic can be used in other things too, for e.g. if humans discover magic in 2022 (probability won't be named magic and will be a new energy instead) but if they do, it will just boost technology to another level, if people can wield the energy, then humanity's average strength, ofc, if you're worried about Magicians getting ideas, Strategic weapons would still exist, more powerful than ever
I stopped reading the novel because I got bored with the novels where mc gets an item and becomes stronger with a lucky encounter, but I can say that it is a novel worth my time.I am someone who does not like the harem genre, but as far as I can see in this novel, mc is not very impressed by women and focuses on his own work.Try reading it, it definitely deserves it
