Great book
What an excellent book! I've been consistently revisiting it to read a fresh chapter, either once a week or every other week, for at least four years now. With over 500 chapters, the slow progression of one chapter at a time truly adds value to the experience.
The story is brief but delightfully cute and humorous, showcasing a unique writing style that sets it apart from other BL novels. The translator does an admirable job. The narrative revolves around our two main characters: the tall and dashing MC, who is surprisingly innocent at heart, and the capable and influential ML, who handles any situation with ease. However, due to the story's brevity, we don't get to fully witness ML's prowess. The dynamics between them are endearing, with ML spoiling and protecting MC, even inspiring MC to consider switching careers to become his bodyguard. The nickname "giraffe" for MC, stemming from his height, adds a comical touch to their interactions.
Though there are many minor characters, their names are often left unmentioned, with MC assigning amusing though occasionally strange nicknames. The relationship between MC and ML lacks substantial development, yet it's portrayed as healthy and respectful, a rarity in Chinese BL literature. Despite the advertised reversibility, the romance remains more platonic, with no explicit displays of affection such as kissing (at least as far as my memory serves).
The story concludes abruptly when they become a couple and are about to embark on their first experience, leaving readers wanting more of their journey. Nonetheless, the build-up to their relationship is swoon-worthy.
Is it really dropped by author plz say no
The story was born from this writing prompt:
"Cultivator f*cks off and becomes a farmer"
At it's core it's a slice of life, though the action can get quite intense at times. Basically it's a giant middle finger to all Xianxia tropes, where the mc runs away to the weakest possible place and lives there happily with minimal cultivator b*llsh*t. Naturally sh*t happens eventually, but it's not like some trash 'mc hides his power' novel where it gets revealed within the first couple chapters.
In my opinion it's an absolute masterpiece, being my #1 favorite novel of all time, with #2 being Suicide Hunter and #3 being The Simulacrum.
yup...unfortunately, honestly my favorite thing about it was the fairly unique (from what I've read) pill stuff, mainly the ways he improved everything or grew everything and the cool pills.
i can't finish the last several hundred,it only gets worse... it gives him the same power in multiple redundant ways, he never uses anything interesting or cool, heck it's so bad i can't even tolerate it at 3am while stoned and playing bf4.
Interesting story indeed, but for readers seeking a more serious narrative, I'd suggest exploring other options. "Starchild" isn't the right fit; the protagonist is relatable and avoids complex themes. The story features entertaining arcs and an "over-the-top" plot that sometimes verges on exaggeration, even with its unconventional element like cross-dressing (though it does offer a different perspective once you pass that part). In essence, the central theme revolves around the "stars" guiding Yun Xi towards understanding love for multiple partners and finding harmony in relationships, despite his inherent indecisiveness and loyalty to monogamy, inadvertently drawing affection from various characters and taking responsibility for their emotions.
As an avid reader, "The CEO's Little Intern" left me captivated with its compelling narrative. The protagonist's journey from humble beginnings to navigating the cutthroat corporate world resonated deeply. The chemistry between the CEO and intern was intriguing, providing a refreshing twist on the traditional mentor-mentee dynamic. The story's blend of drama, humor, and unexpected romance made for an enjoyable read that kept me turning pages until the end. I wholeheartedly recommend this engaging tale for anyone seeking a modern, inspiring职场 love story.
Thank you. I pride myself in my clarity.
