Although MC possessed intelligence and resourcefulness, thanks to her powers granting her access to valuable information, she could often navigate life like playing a game with cheat codes. However, her responsible use of her abilities was commendable. The scene that stood out was when ML experienced extreme humiliation, while MC remained completely unaffected, displaying a cool detachment. The plotlines that could potentially become tiresome were typically resolved swiftly, sometimes before any significant events unfolded, making the story an enjoyable read.
The narrative seems more like a condensed version of a story, meticulously crafted with lengthy sections, but lacking substance. The relationships and conversations are underdeveloped, with characters predominantly narrating their emotions rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue. It reads as平淡 and unengaging; the protagonist, while bringing some change, often intervenes opportunistically without significantly altering the established plot trajectory, such as rescuing Neville or Hermione. These scenes would have been more compelling if there were deeper emotional connections between the characters, but they feel flat and one-dimensional. Moreover, the main character is portrayed as a flawless all-knowing genius, outshining everyone else, which can come across as unrealistic and detracts from the authenticity of the story.
yeah,,,, I did realize on a positive note that City of Witches has only been around for 9 months on this site (idk when it technically started) but it has around 236 chapters so in theory it could have a lot more chapters without to bad of a wait time
Though this may offend some people, but I must say, writing platforms really need a mode of monitoring standards. I understand the concept of freedom of expression, like everyone can express their creativity but based on my awful experiences with "inexperienced" authors, some measures needs to be put in place. Just about anyone can dish out whatever abomination their minds concoct for the mass' consumption. Like we need quality control. Because the amount of idiotic writing greatly outnumbers and even suppresses those of great quality. Such platforms shouldn't allow just about anyone to produce subpar novels. Anyway this is just a rant. No need to take seriously.
This is a pretty good in-between read. Doesn't take itself too seriously.
One thing to note: the author starts to run out of new plot around chapter 1,000 (he says so himself).
One of the best cultivation novels out there.
Author has solved alot of problems when going into higher cultivation, such as accumulating to much abilities and/or weapons which the protagonist seemingly forgets about 100 chapters after. . lol.
Characters matter and has story behind them, they keep reappearing in the story in a way that is cohesive and makes sense. If new characters, which are tied heavily to Li Qingshan, are introduced, they are not simply thrown out of the window.
World building is excellent, the author makes the world breathe and its genuinely enjoyable.
Author does a great job at keeping Li Qingshan and . . . true to their convictions and goals, which develops naturally through their experiences and major events in the story.
The story is very slow at the start but trust me, it is a SOLID anchor for the future development to the characters, the world, everything.
Read it, you will not be disappointed.
9. 5/10
What’s with all the time skips, the start is so rushed. Im on chapter 6 and it’s hard to understand what the hell is going on.
This might be my favorite romance novel I've read with the exception of sss class revival hunter because the two female leads are so similar.
This had so much potential just as it was getting really good, dam
This pure trash bro, it can be fun to read if you ignore how poorly it is written
I'm sad bc theres no update. I don't wanna go to webnovel tho...
"how dare someone like something I don't like" typical manchild behavior
