Very hooked to this book! Just started reading and already such a big fan of the characters. So much drama right from the start and I'm already cheering for the two of them to get together.
Ooh, is the story a returnee kind of people? I wonder if there is more in the situation?
The pacing in these chapters is actually really well controlled. Let me break it down. Chapter 9 starts with the aftermath of the cotton candy incident, moves to the vegetable market (a surprisingly domestic scene), then escalates to You Chumu's killing threats, then Xu Chi's desperate trip to the management office, and ends with him returning home to find You Chumu has appeared beside him out of nowhere. That's a lot of ground to cover and it never feels rushed. The author uses a great technique here: after each high-tension moment, there's a small domestic scene that acts as a pressure valve. The vegetable market scene with You Chumu asking "Can all of these be eaten?" is almost comedic in its innocence, which makes the later killing threats hit even harder because we've just seen this seemingly normal kid asking about vegetables. The transition from the management office back home is where the pacing really shines. Xu Chi deliberately goes back to the vegetable market to buy meat—this small detail tells us so much. He's trying to re-establish normalcy, to pretend nothing happened. But when he gets home and the house is silent, that's when the tension spikes again. "Subconsciously, he was about to call You Chumu by name, then remembered that he shouldn't know it and swallowed it back." That tiny beat of hesitation is everything. And the chapter ends on that note of You Chumu appearing out of nowhere saying "Brother"—right as Xu Chi's guard is down. Perfect cliffhanger.
It's an intriguing story with well writtencharacters. I highly recommend it.
Very surprised by the quality so far, hope it continues. It doesn't feel like a cheaply translated novel, and the story building seems coherent.Give it a shot if you're into isekai/transmigration
great story and execution. there is not a lot like it on this site
It is such a fascinating and emotional story! The idea of Dante Blackwell being reincarnated as Lucian Westwood, in his own book, is honestly so unique and intriguing. Watching him go through cycle after cycle of death and rebirth is heartbreaking. The themes of parricide, filicide, and nihilism add so much depth to the story. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Dante’s constant struggle against his fate and the world he created keeps you hooked, even though it can feel a bit repetitive at times. If you love dark fantasy with a lot of emotional depth and complex characters, this book is definitely worth reading!
I'm the creator, so this is 100% biased.
"Maa iwan pergi main dulu ya!"
The Monster kicked the door and the door opened. "Carl! Come here now!"
"Fritz-Fritz, see there is sadistic sewing news," Said my Mother.
Taking exception to this Lukas stood up and started kicking the man again still holding the PS4 controller.
