I really love everything about this book from the amazing plotline to the perfect construction of words
Amazing plot, first chapter itself captivating. Author gonna rock it.
I need to talk about the waist scene because my entire being is still recovering. Xia Chu is literally falling and Jiang Ran catches her—left hand on her wrist, right hand on her waist, pulls her into his arms. The narration doesn't even try to be subtle about it: "Her waist was very slim—almost small enough to fit in one hand—and very soft." And then the tobacco scent hits her and she just... freezes. Her mind goes blank. Her body stiffens. This is the moment where everything shifts, isn't it? Because up until now, they've had this whole arrangement—she's the tutor, he's the student, there's money involved, there are boundaries. But when his hand is on her waist and she's pressed against his chest, all those categories collapse. And what's fascinating is how the author handles the aftermath. Jiang Ran's ears are red. He lets her go gently. Neither of them says anything about it. Back in the classroom, Xia Chu can't calm down. She's sitting there trying to act normal while her heart is probably still racing. Meanwhile Jiang Ran is being all smug and "Sister Xia Chu~ do you like drinking milk?" like he's trying to fill the silence with something else. Their relationship is this beautiful mess of power dynamics—she's supposed to be the authority figure, but he's the one who's clearly more emotionally invested. And yet she's the one who keeps bringing up the money. It's like she's building walls even as every scene shows her crumbling.
Upon graduating from high school, one can't help but reminisce and feel a sense of déjà vu when revisiting familiar experiences later on. This realization often brings to light the enduring purity of one's heart, the unchanging essence they carry within. "Fake Slackers" is a remarkable novel that evokes powerful emotions and captures the essence of adolescence in a beautifully crafted narrative. The author skillfully weaves a tapestry of vivid characters that resonate with readers, painting a vivid picture of the highs and lows of high school life. At its core, the story touched me deeply, tugging at heartstrings.
I particularly appreciate characters like Xie Yu, a seemingly aloof yet inherently kind-hearted protagonist, and He Zhao, a seemingly confident yet tenderhearted love interest. The novel masterfully conveys the message to cherish the joy, sorrow, laughter, and tears of youth, as well as the bittersweet moments that fleeting time brings. Time may march on, but memories linger, waiting to be revisited through retrospection.
In describing this book, I would sum it up as "The Beauty of Adolescence." Initially reluctant to venture beyond the original chapters, I found myself emotionally invested, reluctant to let the story end. Indeed, it provided late-night catharsis, filled with laughter and tears, much like a teenager. Though the novel concludes, for Xie Yu and He Zhao, their life journey is just beginning.
I'll surely miss these characters and look forward to revisiting their story in the future.
This is probably greatest fanfiction ever written for now
bro is hallucinating
Absolutely love this book. Definitely one of my all time favorite cultivation novels. Just wish the author hadn’t gotten sick and had time to wrap it up better
nope never even opened it up i was really waiting for someone to reply before reading it
The novel is poorly executed, attempting to be a cultivation story but lacking creativity. The protagonist is portrayed as a typical "young master" character, and the portrayal of women comes across as manipulative and unappealing, almost resembling a vindictive version of the incel ideology. The main character's lack of depth is frustrating, as if the author intentionally mirrors the reader's disdain, which is ironic given the MC's unlikable traits.
My disapproval stems primarily from the predictable nature of the female characters turning out to be love interests. It's like the author is saying, "She wronged you, tormented you, and now you'll just sweep her off her feet." It's a disappointing and shallow narrative choice. ????
In essence, the book fails to engage due to its clichéd plot and one-dimensional characters.
"Apocalypse Cheater" is a riveting tale that effortlessly weaves an intriguing blend of dystopian intrigue and unexpected humor. The protagonist's audacious wit keeps the reader hooked from start to end, as they navigate through a post-apocalyptic world with surprising twists. The author's knack for creating a vivid setting and multidimensional characters adds depth to the narrative. Although the premise might initially seem dark, it's the protagonist's resilience and cunning that make this a thoroughly enjoyable read, leaving one pondering long after the last page.
