Of course, it was just his imagination and not much to go from, as the monsters could react very differently depending on the situation. The way this book paints its world is incredible. Let me just list some details that stuck with me: the faded red banners on the walls reading 'Reform and Opening Up Welcomes the Spring Breeze,' the sound of students reading from the school, the old station being torn down by an excavator, the department store with its color televisions and washing machines that already look outdated to someone from Hong Kong. This isn't just background decoration — the setting is actively shaping the story. The old station being demolished mirrors Yang Qin's own rise. He's part of the new wave of entrepreneurs building something from nothing, just like the city itself. And Wen Quhua, with her Hong Kong money and Seiko watch, represents a different kind of modernity — one that's wealthier but also more rootless. The most vivid scene for me was definitely the delivery to the construction site. The heat, the sweat, the workers rushing over for the mung bean soup, the shade of the tree where Wen Quhua ends up pushed behind Yang Qin. You can feel the temperature, the humidity, the noise. And then the department store scene — Shen Yan pointing out watches, the red agate bracelet on Wen Quhua's wrist, the momentary distraction when she shakes her hand. These small visual details make the world breathe.
"Confront me in a Komuro-kun fight" - at the end of this sentence, everyone present was surprised.
"And you can not. Your body is dead for days. It is decomposing. As a doctor you know ...
