Loving this new book, author, I had been your fan from the first book. Please update more frequently.

In its own unique way, this is quite entertaining. I actually enjoy this genre, so the concept of a "wife chasing" story set in a crematorium doesn't bother me at all. It's not meant to provide profound insights, but rather caters to those who appreciate angsty themes.
The main character's perspective is quite unreliable, which becomes apparent early on. Despite being powerful, kind, and respected, he has low self-esteem, which affects his understanding of others' perceptions. For instance, the male lead (ML) is deeply fixated on the MC, to the point of offering to harm someone from their past, all before becoming a guild master. There's also a guild member whose jealousy ML misinterprets as his usual cold and antisocial behavior, when in reality, it stems from the MC's affection for the other person.
The MC seems oblivious to ML's possessiveness, and there might be more to the ML's relationship with his alleged partner than meets the eye. It appears to be a potentially manipulative contract. The MC is heartbroken by the unrequited love, and given ML's manipulative, obsessive, calculating, and controlling nature, it's concerning. It's possible that ML故意 uses harsh words to manipulate and hurt the MC, without realizing the full extent of his actions.
I'm curious about how ML's behavior will change once he learns about the MC's limited life expectancy, a result of the MC sacrificing himself for the guild, which is essentially ML's career. It's a complex dynamic that promises further emotional turmoil.
From around the 1880s, the narrative takes a turn, spinning with feminist themes about marriage markets, corsets, and the rarity of women obtaining positions, despite the author's assertion that it's a fantasy where equality prevails. The villain's stories have become overly focused on their spoiled nature. As an admirer of villains, I seek the dark and sinister aspect, not just a one-dimensional portrayal of an independent woman without substance or demonstrated strength and autonomy in the plot.
The first volume is free to read. But its up to you whether u want to read mtl translation or professional translation.
Yes.. that's why I'm hook.
I remember reading this as a novice novel reader and being confused as f*ck. I only survived to ch 26 because I felt my spiritual space cracking.
Any news on the next update???? really looking forward to it ??
Not really it's hard to find such a good romance novel, Valhalla saga was good, fated to be loved by villains was also good, but I can't really think of any good romance novels tbh, maybe the blind Saint one that's pretty good
God this is so slow. One fight with a side dog cost him 7 chapters. I hope this wont be for the rest of the novel. Those 7 chapters consisted of every possible character in the novel barking at them
I am nearing the end, but hesitating due to the emotional attachment. This book earns a full 10/10 and I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's one of my all-time favorites. Although it doesn't adhere to Chekhov's gun principle, its storytelling captivates me with each plot twist.
Jing Yue, the protagonist, stands out as a character. He may not possess innate qualities like patience or talent, but his wisdom from years of experience instills a calm demeanor when facing challenges. He embodies leadership, maintaining composure, listening, rewarding those who deserve it, and firmly punishing those who don't. His words resonate, as he says, "Follow me, but remember, disobedience has consequences."
Jing Yue also displays kindness and empathy, avoiding naivety. He learns from his mistakes but never forgets them. The novel emphasizes themes like staying true to one's path, overcoming inner demons, acknowledging cause and effect, and the importance of hard work and dedication rather than shortcuts. It conveys a sense of tranquility, teaching that progress takes time, and success isn't solely dependent on talent.
The protagonist's tragic death in his previous life highlights the importance of mental preparedness and the transformative journey he undergoes throughout the story. While there was an 'ultimate enemy,' the novel's true resolution lies in his understanding and mastery of his techniques. In essence, the narrative emphasizes growth, self-discovery, and the interconnected nature of life's lessons.
