Even moments of conflict or disagreement make sense in the narrative. All plot mysteries are satisfactorily resolved by the climax, making for a solid ending.

However, be warned that the story contains graphic and disturbing elements, which might not be suitable for everyone. There are no specific triggers, but it's best to avoid reading it during meals.

I was surprised by how swiftly I completed this novel, but what truly stood out was its concise narrative without excessive background details stretching the story. The portrayal of Chuan-er was particularly engaging; I doubt I would have finished it if he weren't the protagonist. His awkward moments elicited a shared embarrassment from me, which added an amusing touch.

Although at times, the plot twists were predictable, I still found the reading enjoyable and eagerly awaited each development. I appreciate that the author refrained from dragging the story unnecessarily or including extraneous character backstories.

The male lead, Li Sinian, has really captured my heart. With his high intellect and unwavering dedication to protecting his Chuan ge (which I assume is an affectionate term), he's a charming character. He's just too cute!

Each supporting character also holds its own intrigue, with their unique stories and hidden layers. It's fascinating how they all contribute to the narrative.
