Author, elena (mc wife ) should have senced his soul , as you said that their soul us connected, we should expect that he got taken after he achieved his goal in lower realm or they should send noir (death guard or mc future wife ) to keep him safe in case of danger etc. what I want to say is most logical decision is he return to clan in very short period time unless there is going to be war as to protect him, keeping him hidden in the lower realm or safe zone in the immortal realm where no one know his alive etc . Finnaly, personally I would have liked that he will return within 50 chapters. or is going Typical and most annoying is climb the realm one by one (which is waste of time and repeated scenes).
