I stood in the shadows, watching her. She was a vision of loveliness, her long blonde hair cascading down her back like a river of gold. Her bright blue eyes sparkled as she laughed, her full lips curving upwards in a radiant smile.
But I wasn't here to admire her beauty. I was here to protect her.
As a former CIA agent, I had seen my fair share of danger. But nothing could have prepared me for the assignment that lay ahead.
