Onkai awakens cluelessly in a world unbeknownst to him, where he is immediately handed the task to help the King after being granted an ability to aid him on his journey. However, Onkai doesn't feel so obedient and decides to go berserk in the village he has spawned into, massacring it's people for nothing more than his own sadistic pleasures and a mysterious, deeply embedded anger. News of a "Mad Player" spreads quickly throughout the Kingdom of Highmaria, prompting the King's guards to pursue him and forcing Onkai on the run. As Onkai learns more about this world, fragments of his forgotten past begin to surface, eventually leading him to believe that his origins may contribute to the rise of Highmaria's greatest enemy, forcing him down a deadly path to find out more.
