Households relocated in the 1990s

In the second half of 1999, Jiang Village was officially slated for demolition and redevelopment.
However, earlier that same year, An Jianping’s family had done two major things:

First, they sold two parcels of residential land in Jiang Village, totaling more than two hundred square meters.
Second, they purchased the village’s very first apartment building with an elevator so their son could get married.

As a result, overnight, An Jianping’s family—once the object of admiration and envy—became the only household left out after twenty-two of the twenty-four families in Jiang Village suddenly struck it rich.

Given a second chance at life, An Songyu looked at the residential land at home that had not yet been sold,
and at the new house her elder brother had not yet bought.
She immediately clenched her fists and sprang into action.
