Just as he wakes up in the hospital, Rhodes is driven to marry his dead fiancee. However, this ploy to steal his inheritance doesn’t work in their favor. Rhodes abandons his hollow life after losing his memories… to follow the trail of a mysterious man who appeared at his wedding. It leads him back to his unlikely hometown and the site of his first demise.

Killian only wants a life of his choosing. However, his family’s self-instated mission as keepers of the spiritual realm keeps interfering with his dreams. His sole lucky stroke is running into Rhodes again.

Riches, secrets, and ghosts converge in the new life they wove together. A ghost hotel attracts all kinds of spirits that might harm the people… or give answers to Rhodes’s strange amnesia. Will they balance everything in the two worlds, or will they cause one disaster after another?

This is a work of fiction. All similarities to real people and events are all coincidental.

I have really enjoyed this novel the main MC is very likeable with lots of funny quips thrown in here and there. The novel gives a lot of detail about the world and the various races that inhabit it and the story is entertaining with many likeable side characters and quests definitely worth a read.

In my opinion, the novel is exciting. It was interesting for me to read about past events and the protection of the grotto. The translation is a little bad. In my opinion, the synopsis does not correspond to the story. Perhaps this is caused by a small number of chapters.

The main conceit of the novel is that the MC, a reincarnated or transmigrated man, offers analysis and advice to the disguised king of the country without knowing the king’s identity. In the 30 chapters so far, he’s also impressed three of the king’s ministers with his wisdom and ability to reach accurate conclusions given the scarcest of indirect evidence. It is unclear whether he actually has such Holmesian deductive skills, or if he constructs post hoc cover stories for the knowledge he already has of the kingdom’s development. It’s not clear why he has this knowledge of the kingdom’s development either, or how comprehensive in scope and timeline his knowledge is.Then there’s the fact that according to the synopsis he has a system, which we have yet to see. In summary, at this point the novel has been a pleasure to read, but if it continues in the same vein of him giving sagacious analyses to the king and his ministers, it will get stale. However, as indicated above, there’s still  a lot of room for further developments and significant changes to the plot, so it is almost certainly the case that the trial chapters cannot be used to judge the rest of the novel.

Based on the synopsis story looks interesting enough. Oly 13 chapters are out as of this review, judge the book after reading more than 10 chapters
