The Last Rebellion leads to the extinguishing of the Eternal Flame, and heaven and earth are no longer connected, separating angels from men. But Tristan, the pure but flawed one, entrusted with destroying the flame, becomes one of the fallen for the sin of killing Him.
Alistair, the original fallen, finds Tristan after his fall.
When Tristan falls, he thinks he will be alone on earth, but he awakes to find himself in the care of the dark angel, Alistair. He is the antithesis of Tristan because he chose to rebel against the heavens and embrace his dark nature, becoming the devil.
But in New York City, they are hardly the strangest people.
Alistair is entranced by Tristan's purity, especially when it seems like the beautiful angel kept his divine light despite the fall. He wants to colour the other man with his darkness while still craving to protect his purity.
