A white lotus is a symbol of purity and innocence. However, when used to describe a person, only the outside would be considered pure. A sinister heart would lie within that white lotus.
Bai Lian appeared to embody purity. She would always act gentle and kind. However, she simply acted as such to protect herself. Who told her to be unable to cultivate in a world where the strong are respected?
Her fiance accused her of having a sinister heart behind her gentle facade and committing numerous attempts to kill his true beloved out of jealousy. As she was burned alive, she swore that in her next life, she would be a true villain.
With a twist in fate, a white lotus (plant) regains memories from its past life. Bai Lian embarks on a quest to evolve in order to possess the strength necessary for her revenge.
