As I woke up from my cold bed, I turned on the lamp beside me. The warm light flowing from the hot bulb lit up my room beautifully. I sat up, only half awake. Part of me wanted to go back to sleep, but the other knew I had a big day ahead of me. I got out of my bed, clumsily walked to the door, opened it, and left the room. I walked down the stairs, took a deep breath and smelt a familiar scent coming from the kitchen. I couldn't put my finger on it so I rushed to see what it was. As I rounded the corner, I saw my big sister, Melisa Harvel, holding a spatula flipping pancakes in a skillet. As she went to flip another, I snuck in and yelled, "Are those pancakes?!"
