During the reign of Emperor Zhongzong of Tang, the Deputy Censor-in-Chief Jing Zheren was falsely accused and exiled to Lingnan. His daughter, Jing Wan’er, was implicated by association and forced into the palace, where she spent her days handling corpses—earning the cruel nickname “the freak.”

Jing Wan’er firmly believed her father was innocent and swore to avenge him. By chance, she discovered the murder of the Minister’s son, and while collecting the body, she secretly left behind clues.
