Life can sometimes be unpredictable, as Maya Anderson discovered when she was unexpectedly born as a werewolf to human parents. At just sixteen, she faced rejection and had to leave her home, spending the last five years on the run to keep away from her kind. However, fate led her to cross paths with Edric Payne, the Alpha of the powerful Mountain Fire pack, the largest in the nation. Edric, at twenty-five, hasn't found his true mate yet, and his pack has gone without a Luna for over a year. This is a critical issue for their survival, but Edric, believing in The Moon Goddess's promise to connect him with his mate upon becoming Alpha, isn't as concerned as his father, Joshua, the former Alpha. When Edric captures Maya, claiming her as his mate, she is bewildered and unaware of her werewolf nature. Hating both werewolves and herself, Maya refuses to accept this new role as a potential Luna for a pack known for their thirst for violence. Despite her initial resistance, a series of奇异 circumstances force her to remain with the Mountain Fire pack. From the moment they encounter each other, Maya and Edric's lives become intertwined in ways they never imagined. They soon discover that their previous understanding of their existence was far from the truth, and their destinies take an unforeseen turn.

Readers beware- guard your heart with the last chapter, or have a box of tissues readily available. Such a well written story and I hated to see it end.

Is this book done? I hope there is more, it’s a great book!! I know I shouldn’t but I kind of feel bad that abbadon died.  I can’t say he’s a good guy for sure but I kind of feel sorry for him in a way. He did seem to love her in his own way
