A human man, Royen, who was seriously injured, arrives on horseback at the doorstep of D'Espagnet, a witch known for her unpleasant temperament despite her beautiful appearance. D'Espagnet hated humans and wanted to treat his wounds and then get rid of him, but she ended up living with him until spring came because the forest was closed for the winter. However, as the days went by, D'Espagnet found that living with Royen wasn't so bad. Will she be able to let go of this man when the winter forest opens? *** "Haa. Enough now." D'Espagnet pushed his shoulder as if she was annoyed. "Just one more time, please." He pleaded, swaying his waist slowly. "Do you know how many times you've said that?" "Please, I beg you." He wasn't even aware of the sound he was making now. "Then make it quick." As soon as permission was granted, he thrust his waist sharply and lunged for the witch's weak spot he'd discovered over the past few days.

The idea shows promise the execution, though, does unfortunately not live up to that promise. This story needs significant editing and spell-checking.Maybe that gets better further into the story, but I find the sentence building and grammatical errors to be too off-putting to continue reading.

A solid read so far (215 chapters in), with a very much appreciated bigger-picture perspective. Where so many other novels here focus on one guy and his ego (and his problems and strength growing), ACE really looks at humanity's need and circumstances, and for sci-fi, it's really not that far out. The main character truly isn't overpowered in any sense, and the development of the civilization is his main concern, not his personal strength. This makes the main character a great deal more lovable than even the most colorful selfish pricks in most wuxia novels. I actually wish they'd give the MC a bit more focus and care, and there's evidence the author can pull off touching scenes, but right now, the fate of mankind is in the balance, so...
