Cindy inquired, "Do you believe Her Highness went to speak with His Majesty?" Amore promptly replied, "Absolutely not, that would be a grave misstep."
Curiosity piqued, I asked, "Why do you say so?"
The two exchanged glances for a moment before Miriam intervened, "Let's be clear, we're all just servants here." She tried to coax out any information they might have.
Cindy whispered softly, "The king is occupied with preparations for the upcoming wedding." Amore chimed in with a hint of amusement, "Preparations, specifically with Lady Grace, the enchanting daughter of Lord Ridder."
Debby queried, "So, he's actually... intimate with her right now?"
I asked, trying to grasp the situation, "You mean, he sleeps with many of the ladies in the castle? Lady Grace is his favorite, isn't she? You claim you can hear their sounds from upstairs – the king can never get enough of her."
Amore elaborated, "Indeed, His Majesty has a predilection for the company of young women, especially Lady Grace. When we pass by, we can't help but hear their moans and whispers. And during private moments, he doesn't hesitate to express his affection for her openly."
Cindy added, "It's a shame for the princess. She's about to marry a man who is deeply in love with someone else. It's rumored that the king agreed to the marriage due to ministerial pressure, but he truly desired to wed Lady Grace. However, they couldn't reach a consensus."
Feeling overwhelmed, I sat down quietly, "Our princess seems to have an unfortunate fate."
Indeed, I felt like my own luck had taken a turn for the worse, as I prepared to enter into a union with such a complicated man.
