Jax, who appeared hurried and disheveled, rushed towards me upon hearing my call. "Jax, are you alright?" I asked, gently brushing his hair away to reveal his reddened, tearful eyes and beads of sweat. In a soft whisper, he addressed me, "Aurora...you're here? Fear tinged his voice."
"Of course I am. What on earth happened to you? Were you in a fight? Are you injured?" I inquired, feeling a surge of anger at the thought of anyone causing him harm. I vowed inwardly that if there had been any harm, I'd make sure the perpetrator suffered severe consequences.
Shaking his head, he replied, "It's not that. He buried his face in my stomach, clutching my waist," still not explaining the cause of his distress.
"Then what could have possibly upset you like this?" I asked, puzzled by his cryptic response.
