Celeste Baker, who held her father in high regard, was utterly shocked when she discovered that he had arranged for her to be married off like a child, this time to the eldest son of the Davis family. Filled with a mix of disappointment and anger, she reluctantly agreed to the union but resolved to distance herself from her family of origin, the Armstrongs. Her father initially resisted, but the Armstrong matriarch made the final decision, leaving him powerless to change it. However, the wives of both families seemed eager to exact their own form of vengeance on Celeste. On the Davis side, Dean Davis, the future head of their prominent clan, took it upon himself to investigate the young woman he was destined to marry. As he uncovered intriguing details, the typically aloof man revealed a subtle smile, hinting at an unexpected twist in Celeste's arranged marriage. The dynamics between Celeste and Dean raised questions about the harmony of their marital life and the potential complications that might arise.

The first 700 or so chapters are quite good, it's very fun. Then MC gets r*p*d, at least twice by two different women. My fault I guess for not checking the tags, but in retrospect it was foreshadowing: author spent hundreds of chapters very BARELY fleshing out some sort of romance with these women, and ended it terribly. Just like how the story itself has a pretty unsatisfying ending. Sad how it turned out, good enough to pass the time.
