When you consider the situation, I can't help but feel like none of it was my doing. My boyfriend's betrayal, my mother's choice to leave, and even being selected for the esteemed Alpha's Apprenticeship program – these events just seemed to happen without my asking for them. And, of course, I certainly didn't choose to have the Alpha himself imprint on me. Life has dealt me these cards, and I didn't ask for this path to unfold.
