Depending on your definition of normal.
Disillusioned by the way his day-to-day is going, Aster has mostly given up on his life as it stands. In his final act, he saves the girl and dies. Surprisingly, he is chosen to carry out a mission on a new world of might and magic: spread the word of Dorin, God of creation, of political power, of justice, and of prostitutes.
At the end of the day, you can't always choose your benefactors.
