A grand hall inside the Imperial Palace where the Gongyan ceremony takes place. The interior is luxuriously decorated with gilded palace lanterns hanging from coiled dragon pillars, gilded cloud patterns on the ceiling, mutton-fat jade flooring, and gilded lacquer tables arranged in neat rows. Musicians in brocade robes perform in the corners. Court officials sit on the right side while the left side is reserved for female family members.
