Shen Simo's hometown where she lived until high school. The village has dirt roads, cement-tiled houses surrounded by overgrown weeds, a desolate and lifeless appearance. Most villagers are elderly while the younger generation has migrated to southern cities. It has a village committee office and a small grocery store.
